Travel nursing assignments are of a short-term contract ranging from 4 to 13 weeks. However, extension or any permanent position is offered by the hospital at the end of the contract.

Travel nurses are generally provided a one bedroom fully furnished apartment. It also includes utilities i.e. electric, water, trash within limits. Sometimes, facilities including telephone, cable TV and Internet service are there too. In housing basic furnishings such as a washer and dryer, dishwasher and a microwave are included.
Normally, housing facility is being arranged by the travel nursing agency in the company name. Some companies allow nurses to choose their own accommodation and nurses can directly participate in the search and selection process.
